Electricity consumption hits new peaks, renewable energy runs at full capacity

For the past 3 consecutive days, domestic electricity consumption continued to peak, breaking previous records and far surpassing the peak of previous years. This is also the time when renewable electricity is mobilized at the highest level and sent to the maximum grid.

Electricity consumption increases dramatically in the dry season, causing the capacity mobilized from renewable energy plants to also peak and remain at a high level, including solar farms and rooftop solar power projects. home.

According to data from the National Power System Dispatch Center, in recent days, 110 operating solar and wind power projects have been mobilized at maximum capacity, with only a few plants having limited capacity. with a fairly low limit.

The National Power System Dispatch Center said that a number of solar and wind power plants in the provinces of Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, An Giang, Long An, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen generate high capacity. can cause overload on related 110 kV and 220 kV lines, so this unit has limited the capacity of some plants to ensure operation of the power system.

However, according to the deputy director of a solar power plant, nationwide electricity consumption decreased after the hot season, combined with a series of wind power projects with a capacity of thousands of MW that will connect to the grid before October 31 this year. causing the number of renewable power projects pushed onto the grid to increase, it is likely that renewable power projects will continue to be cut, or even cut more strongly than in recent times. Besides, there are limits on transmission lines, so the ability to transmit to the grid at full capacity is still not guaranteed.

👉👉Renewable electricity is a lifesaver for the electricity industry in recent hot days. Therefore, more investment is needed for the power grid, attracting private participation and long-term policies to develop this potential energy source.
