VISIT THE MODEL OF SOLAR DRINKING WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM AT AN DIEN PRIMARY SCHOOL

On March 23, the GREEN IN training group visited sustainable energy models in Thanh Phu commune, Ben Tre province. Among them, there is a prominent solar water filtration system model at An Dien Primary School (An Dien hamlet, An Dien commune, Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province).

It is known that many years ago, the school had a water filtration system to provide clean drinking water for students, staff, and teachers at the school. However, the old system runs on electricity, so the school has to spend a certain amount of money every month to pay for operating the model.

In 2022, Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company together with the Union of Science & Technology Associations of Ben Tre province provided financial and technical support to deploy a solar energy drinking water supply system model. . The system helps provide drinking water standards for students and school staff. It can especially filter salt water during drought periods for students. After installing the system, the School is known to save more than 60% of electricity costs. Ben Tre province has a typical climate of southern Vietnam with a high number of sunny days every year, suitable for implementing the above energy saving model. During the operation, the teaching staff at the school said they did not encounter any difficulties during operation and maintenance.

The model of providing drinking water with solar energy at An Dien Primary School, Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province is a very effective model and a typical example for other localities to learn and implement.
