Workshop "Preparing workforce for green economic transformation" in Thai Nguyen

January 6 - January 1, 7, Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company GREEN IN has coordinated with Department of Industrial Economics and Department of Automotive Engineering, University of Industrial Technology - Thai Nguyen University to successfully organize the Training program "Preparing workforce for green economic transformation", with the participation of 30 establishments such as Universities, Colleges, Enterprises and nearly 1000 graduate students, pupils, and students majoring in automobiles and economics.

The workshop "Preparing workforce for green economic transition" provides knowledge in the field of electric cars, helping lecturers at Universities and Colleges in the Northeast region to include the automobile industry as a neccessary target for training students to prepare for the transition to electrification of the transportation industry in the future. This is a continuation of the training program "Future teachers of the electric car industry" organized by GREEN IN at the end of August 8.

 

   The training session took place in the school's large hall University of Industrial Technology - Thai Nguyen University.

 

Participate in the program werre GREEN IN representatives and the appearance of experts from leading automobile universities in the country: Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Trong Hoan, School of Mechanical Engineering – Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Hoang Phuc, Director of the Automotive Technical Training Program – Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Dr. Le Duc Hieu, Head of the Department of Mechanical Dynamics – Hanoi University of Industry; Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tan, Head of Mechanical Faculty – East Asia University of Technology; MSc. The Minh Cuong, Vice Principal – Quang Ninh Vietnamese-Korean College.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang (Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of GREEN IN) spoke at the training session.

 

At the training session, Ms. Nguy Thi Giang introduced an overview of the Company. GREEN IN was established in 2018 and operates under the social enterprise model in the fields of: Sustainable energy; Green transportation; Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction and Green Jobs. GREEN IN provides effective services to support businesses, workers and local communities to develop sustainably while achieving the goal of protecting the environment.

By 2023, GREEN IN has consulted and implemented many sustainable energy solutions in 16 provinces and cities nationwide, contributing to improving the livelihoods and health of more than 20.000 people and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. locally. At the same time, GREEN IN also continuously provides and shares updated information about new policies, technologies, trends and development opportunities at home and abroad. The above efforts contribute positively to the country's green growth goals and the world's sustainable development.    

According to experts from the World Bank (WB), green economy is economic development that must ensure effective use of natural resources, including minimizing pollution and impact on the environment, while enhancing resilience to natural changes; in addition, promoting the role of state management of the environment and resources in preventing natural disasters. Currently, green economy is understood as a combination of three factors: economic, social and environmental. Green economic development does not only improve economic efficiency and people's quality of life but also reduces social inequality, develops clean energy, conserves natural resources, and ensures production and consumption, thereby leading to sustainable economic growth. 

 

Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh shared about the topic "Green human resources".

 

Vietnam clearly identifies green growth goals that require the participation of many industries. Therefore, in the future, the labor market will have great demand for "green jobs" and "green skills". Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Khac Tuan - Vice Principal of University of Industrial Technology - Thai Nguyen University emphasized: "The need to train human resources in the automobile industry to prepare for the transition to electrification of the transportation industry is a top priority. Electric cars are an inevitable development trend of the world auto industry and Vietnam is no exception. The program organizes training on electric cars with the desire to help automobile industry lecturers grasp and update new knowledge, research and apply it to each lesson, aiming to train human resources in accordance with the trend future development of the automobile industry."

 

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khac Tuan - Vice-president of University of Industrial Technology - Thai Nguyen University spoke at the workshop.

 

The workshop updated the current status and trends of green jobs in the world and Vietnam. With the current transformation, the employment structure is changing according to two main trends: First is the creation of completely new jobs with new skill sets; Second, existing jobs are improved with new skills and knowledge. Soft skills are also expected to become a more important factor in the future. 

Not only focusing on providing professional knowledge, the workshop also organizes activities for representatives from schools to share about the current status and challenges in the current teaching process. There are many outstanding issues that have been raised such as corporate partners cutting financial resources to support training because graduate workers do not come to work at businesses that support training courses; Lack of direction in the career guidance process for students,...

After 2 days, the trainers of the workshop brought to learners updated, interesting, and useful knowledge about green transformation, green economy, and electric cars. In the future, GREEN IN will continue to organize many training series with the desire to promote the process of training workforce in the automobile industry to adapt to the green transition of the entire transportation industry.
