LEGO Group plans to increase solar capacity by more than 70% by 2025

LEGO Group announces plans Expanding the use of renewable energy, with the expectation 72% increase in global solar power capacity in this year.

🎯 LEGO Group climate goals:
✔ Achieved net emissions of 0 in year 2050
✔ Reduce 37% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in year 2032

🛠 LEGO Group's key solar projects:
Building 38 MWp of new solar, increasing existing capacity by 72%
Triple the power at the factory Nyiregyhaza, Hungary with ground and roof systems
New factory in Vietnam with more than 12.400 solar panels on the roof of the production buildings

🔹 Long term project:

  • The LEGO Group is also growing 80MWp solar park in Billund, Denmark, expected to be completed in year 2028. This park will meet all the energy needs at LEGO headquarters in Billund.

(I.e. Linking emission reduction KPIs to employee compensation:

  • LEGO Group Start linking a portion of employee bonuses with the goal of reducing emissions, using a new KPI that measures carbon from factories, stores, offices and even Scope 3 business emissions (including business travel).
  • The company sets goals Expand the scope of this KPI to cover more Scope 3 emission sources.
