ESG and emissions management: new requirements for the logistics supply chain.

The logistics industry is one of the sectors directly involved in greenhouse gas emissions through transportation, warehousing, cold chain operations, port operations, distribution, and goods coordination. In recent years, shippers, multinational corporations, shipping lines, manufacturers, and import/export partners have become increasingly interested in emission data, ESG reports, and emission reduction roadmaps of logistics service providers.

For Vietnamese logistics businesses, this is not only a requirement for increasingly clear market compliance, but also a condition for enhancing competitiveness, maintaining relationships with international customers, and participating more deeply in high-standard supply chains.

However, in reality, many businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), still struggle to properly understand ESG requirements, identify emission sources in their operations, collect data, conduct greenhouse gas inventories, and develop emission reduction plans that are appropriate to their size and resources.

Training is practical and closely linked to logistics operations.

The workshop and training program is designed to provide logistics businesses with foundational knowledge and initial practical tools on ESG, greenhouse gas management, and green transition in the logistics industry.

The main contents of the program include: ESG trends and green transition requirements in the logistics industry; greenhouse gas policies and regulations in Vietnam and internationally; identifying direct and indirect emission sources in logistics businesses; solutions for reducing emissions in transportation, warehousing, cold chain and operations; integrating environmental data into business governance; guidance on building emission management roadmaps and preparing data for ESG reporting.

Through this program, businesses can gradually improve their internal capacity in managing greenhouse gas emissions, meet the requirements of customers and global supply chains, and be more proactive in the green transformation process of Vietnam's logistics industry.
