On October 22-23, 2025, the Vietnam Pulp and Paper Association (VPPA) cooperated with Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company (GREEN IN) to organize a training program: "Sustainable practices - Unlocking green finance for paper industry enterprises" at Phu Tho College of Industry and Trade. The event welcomed the participation of many leaders, managers and experts from enterprises inside and outside the industry.

Trainees and experts at the training course

In the context of sustainable development becoming an inevitable requirement, the training course plays the role of a “green bridge”, helping paper industry enterprises access sustainable finance and improve green transformation capacity. The two-day training took place enthusiastically, providing paper industry enterprises with a comprehensive perspective on sustainable development – from ESG practices to accessing green finance. Organized by GREEN IN and VPPA, it harmoniously combines theory, focusing on students with the “learning by doing” method.

Day 1: Sustainable Practices - Green Finance Approach & Risk Management

In the first session, students learned in depth about ESG reporting – a new competitive advantage in export, practiced identifying key ESG topics and building a reporting framework suitable for the characteristics of the paper industry. The highlight of the day was a visit to the Vietnam Paper Corporation, where students directly observed the green production model and discussed practical lessons for sustainable transformation at the enterprise.

Day 2: Green finance – the key to effective green transformation

Moving on to the second day, the content focused on the topic of green finance – the key to effective and sustainable transformation. GREEN IN experts guided students to inventory and plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and introduced suitable “zero-cost” renewable energy investment solutions for businesses. Next, representatives of Techcombank and financial leasing units shared opportunities to access green capital – the driving force to help businesses expand production associated with sustainable development.

Ms. Nguy Thi Giang - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of GREEN IN emphasized:

“Green finance only truly opens up when businesses proactively practice sustainability and demonstrate positive value for the environment and society.”

Gratitude from GREEN IN

The training course equipped paper industry enterprises with a system of knowledge, ESG practice tools and green finance connection channels, helping enterprises confidently start their journey of sustainable transformation. At the end of the program, VPPA and GREEN IN awarded certificates of course completion to the trainees, recognizing the efforts and commitment of enterprises to sustainable development.
