Quang Tri province approved the investment policy for a 1.200 billion VND wind power plant project, and at the same time called for investment in two more 8.300 billion VND wind power projects in Huong Lap, Huong Phung, Khe Sanh, Lao Bao, Con Tien and Hieu Giang.
On July 19, Mr. Hoang Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province - said that the People's Committee of this province has just decided to approve the investment policy of the Phuc Thanh An Vinh Phuc Wind Power Plant project with a capacity of 7MW.
The project will select investors through the form of invitation for expression of interest and land use bidding, located in Huong Lap, Huong Phung and Khe Sanh communes.

The plant is expected to be built on an area of approximately 10,5 hectares (or less than 0,35 hectares/MW), with 9 hectares of temporary land for construction. Items include wind turbine towers, internal transmission lines, operating houses, roads and auxiliary works.
The total investment capital of the project is estimated at 1.227 billion VND. The project has an operating period of 50 years from the date of investor approval, expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2026 and be completed and put into operation in the first quarter of 2027.
Along with the approval of the Phuc Thanh An Vinh Phuc project, Quang Tri province is also calling for investment in two more large-scale wind power projects. These are the Tan Thanh Long Wind Power Plant project with a capacity of 48 MW, a total investment of about VND 1.809 billion, expected to be implemented from 2025 to 2029 in Khe Sanh and Lao Bao communes; the Cam Lo Wind Power Plant project with a capacity of 200 MW, an investment of VND 6.500 billion, expected to be implemented from 2025 to 2028 in Con Tien and Hieu Giang communes.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, these wind power projects aim to supplement electricity sources, ensure energy security, and promote socio-economic development locally and nationwide. These are projects in the field of special investment incentives and are implemented in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, so they will enjoy many preferential policies according to the provisions of the Investment Law.
