The People's Committee of Tra Vinh province has just approved the investment policy for 5 wind power projects, with a total investment of more than 13.800 billion VND. The province plans to hold a bidding process to find investors.
The wind power projects that have just been approved in principle for investment by the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province, inviting interested investors to participate in bidding, include 4 projects in Duyen Hai town and 1 project in Duyen Hai district.

Accordingly, 4 wind power projects in Duyen Hai town are promoting investment calling, including: Wind Power Plant Project V1-5 and V1-6 Phase 2, capacity 80MW, investment capital of more than 3.860 billion VND; Wind Power Plant V1-2 expansion, capacity 48 MW, investment capital of more than 2.390 billion VND;
V1-3 Wind Power Plant Phase 2, capacity 48 MW, investment capital of nearly 2.260 billion VND; V1-1 Tra Vinh Wind Power Plant Phase 2, capacity 48 MW, investment capital of nearly 2.550 billion VND.
Along with that is Dong Hai 3 Wind Power Plant in Dong Hai commune, Duyen Hai district, with a capacity of 48 MW and an investment capital of more than 2.770 billion VND.
Tra Vinh aims to find investors to implement projects and put them into operation by the end of 2026.
To speed up the selection of investors interested in implementing the above projects, the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province assigned the Department of Finance to urgently post project information on the national bidding network. The Department of Industry and Trade is responsible for preparing and submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for approval the bidding documents to select investors.
Tra Vinh province currently has 5 wind power projects with a total capacity of 322 MW that have been put into commercial operation, and 4 projects under construction (total capacity of 344 MW, expected to be operational this year). The province also has 1 solar power project with a capacity of 140 MW that has been put into commercial operation, and 1 biomass power project with a capacity of 25 MW under construction.
In Tra Vinh, there is Duyen Hai Power Center with 4 plants, total designed capacity of nearly 4.500 MW. Of which, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company (under Power Generation Corporation 1, EVN) manages and operates 3 thermal power plants, total capacity of 3.178 MW, annual designed electricity production of more than 20 billion kWh.
Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee recently assigned departments, branches and localities to implement a project to comprehensively assess the potential for wind power development.
