(HPĐT) - On the morning of October 11, the Center for Science, Technology Development (KHCN) and Innovation (under the Department of Science and Technology) in collaboration with Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company (GREEN IN) organized a workshop on "Net Zero Target - the journey starts with greenhouse gas inventory". Attending the workshop were representatives of a number of city departments, branches and businesses.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing climate change, one of the most pressing issues today, and the important role of greenhouse gas inventory towards the Net Zero target of the Government and Hai Phong City. Green-in experts provided information to help organizations and businesses identify and classify greenhouse gas emission sources in their operations; presented ESG practices to increase competitive advantage for Vietnamese businesses.

Within the framework of the workshop, delegates discussed solutions to support businesses in reducing greenhouse gas emissions such as: smart energy management solutions; financial leasing - a solution to support businesses in green transformation; green financial solutions from banks; sharing experiences from pioneering businesses in conducting emissions inventories. To achieve the Net Zero target and move towards effective greenhouse gas inventories, delegates agreed that it is necessary to build a clear and specific roadmap; promote research, development and application of green technologies; provide financial and technical support to businesses in the transition to sustainable production and business operations; strengthen international cooperation to learn from experiences and attract investment.
The workshop aims to raise awareness of the Net Zero target and apply technical solutions to reduce emissions and develop effective carbon sequestration methods, promoting the transition to a green and sustainable economy, helping to achieve the Net Zero target in the future./.
