The GREEN IN mark in Minh Phu Seafood Group's sustainability report.
With ESG, Net Zero, and emission transparency requirements becoming increasingly mandatory standards in global trade, many Vietnamese businesses have begun shifting from a "compliance" mindset to a "proactive adaptation" mindset. Particularly for the seafood industry – one of Vietnam's key export sectors – building a sustainable development strategy and managing carbon emissions is becoming a crucial factor in determining competitiveness in the international market.
Throughout this journey, GREEN IN was honored to partner with Minh Phu Seafood Group – dubbed the "King of Shrimp" in Vietnam's seafood industry – in conducting a greenhouse gas inventory. The inventory results have been published in the group's latest Sustainable Development Report.

Minh Phu and its strategic shift towards sustainable development.

As one of Vietnam's leading shrimp exporters, Minh Phu Seafood Group currently has a presence in over 50 countries and territories worldwide. Over the years, Minh Phu Seafood Group has been known not only for its strong production and export capabilities but also as a pioneer in improving quality standards, traceability, and developing a sustainable seafood supply chain.
The release of the 2025 Sustainable Development Report further demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to integrating ESG into its overall development strategy. In particular, greenhouse gas inventory is considered a key component, reflecting the company's commitment to emission reduction and achieving Net Zero.
This is not simply a report for information disclosure. For export businesses like Minh Phu, carbon emission data is gradually becoming a "new language" for communicating with customers, investors, and international markets.

The role of GREEN IN in Minh Phu Seafood Group's journey towards sustainable development.

GREEN IN is honored to serve as the greenhouse gas inventory unit for Minh Phu Seafood Group.

For GREEN IN, this is not just a technical consulting activity, but more importantly, it is a process of partnering with businesses to build a long-term emissions management foundation, helping businesses understand their "carbon footprint," thereby providing a scientific basis for making appropriate emission reduction decisions in the future.

For GREEN IN, this is more than just a technical project about carbon data. More importantly, it's a process of partnering with businesses to build a long-term emissions management platform, helping them understand their "carbon footprint," thereby providing a scientific basis for making decisions to reduce emissions in the future.

Through this collaboration, GREEN IN and Minh Phu Seafood Group have jointly reviewed data, standardized calculation methods, and built an emissions information management system that closely aligns with international requirements. This is a crucial preparatory step in the context of major markets such as the EU, the US, and Japan increasingly tightening requirements for traceability and carbon transparency of imported goods.

Greenhouse gas inventory – a “green passport” for export businesses.

Today, carbon emissions are no longer just a concern for the energy sector or multinational corporations. Mechanisms like the European Union's CBAM are gradually creating ripple effects across the entire global supply chain, including the seafood and food processing industries.
In this context, greenhouse gas inventories are not just about "measuring" emissions. They are becoming a strategic tool to help businesses:

  • Meeting the requirements of importers and international partners.
  • Enhancing transparency in the supply chain.
  • Develop a roadmap for emission reduction with a clear database.
  • Preparing for global carbon mechanisms and ESG standards.
  • Enhancing brand reputation and international competitiveness.

Particularly in the seafood industry – where international consumers are increasingly concerned about product sustainability – transparency in emissions data will help businesses build stronger trust with the market.
The fact that Minh Phu Seafood Group proactively conducted greenhouse gas inventories and disclosed information on sustainable development demonstrates the long-term vision of its leadership in preparing for the future of Vietnam's export industry.

ESG is no longer a trend – it's the new competitive advantage.

In recent years, ESG has shifted from a "media trend" to a genuine criterion for evaluating corporate governance capabilities. Investors, customers, and international financial institutions are not only interested in how much a business produces, but also in how it emits pollutants, uses resources, and creates value for the community.

This places a new demand on Vietnamese businesses: to integrate deeply into global supply chains, businesses need to prepare sustainable management capabilities starting today.

GREEN IN believes that the ESG journey doesn't begin with grandiose strategies or massive investments, but rather with businesses daring to look at their own data, measure its impact, and gradually make changes based on scientific and transparent foundations.
