GREEN IN & Zion Plastics Sign Agreement to Implement ESG Roadmap and Establish Internal ESG Working Group
On May 28, 05 in Bac Ninh, Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company (GREEN IN) and Zion Plastic Joint Stock Company officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to implement the ESG Roadmap (Environment - Society - Governance) and establish an internal ESG Working Group. The event marks an important turning point in Zion's green transformation strategy, affirming the company's strong commitment to sustainable development and deep integration into the global value chain.
A strategic step in the green transformation journey
In the context of globalization trends increasingly associated with strict requirements for sustainable development, ESG is no longer an option, but has become a prerequisite for businesses to maintain competitive advantages, attract investment and expand export markets. In particular, for manufacturing enterprises such as Zion - a unit operating in the industrial plastics industry, proactively building an ESG roadmap not only helps meet domestic legal requirements such as Decree 06/2022/ND-CP, Decision 13/2024/QD-TTg but also helps businesses stand firm before international regulations such as CBAM (EU), ESG law in Japan, or reporting standards such as GRI, IFRS, ESRS...

Sharing at the event, Ms. Nguy Thi Giang - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of GREEN IN emphasized:
“Green transformation is not a passing trend but a long-term strategic development path. Zion’s proactive initiation of the ESG Roadmap and establishment of an internal Working Group demonstrates a long-term vision and strong commitment from the company’s leadership.”
Main contents of the cooperation program
1. Assessing the current ESG situation
Through surveys, analysis and working with relevant departments, GREEN IN will support Zion in determining the current environmental, social and governance status. From there, the two parties will jointly identify risks, opportunities and gaps for improvement in the entire business operation system.
2. Develop ESG strategy and plan
Based on the assessment results, GREEN IN will work with Zion to develop a set of ESG targets that are appropriate to the industry, internal capacity and market orientation. The plan will include solutions on emissions management, resource use, improving working conditions, practicing business ethics, ensuring transparency in governance, etc.
3. Establish an internal ESG Working Group
With a core role in implementing and monitoring the implementation of the ESG roadmap, the ESG Working Group will include representatives from departments such as Production Management, Human Resources, Administration, Engineering and Legal. GREEN IN will directly train, enhance capacity and transfer tools and documents to this group to ensure proactiveness and sustainability in long-term implementation.
