Honda revealed its first electric supercar: The mainstay of a lineup of 30 future electric car models
Honda NSX will change from running an engine to running an electric motor.
Honda NSX will be the centerpiece of the lineup of 30 new pure electric vehicles launched in the near future, thanks to an ambitious investment of up to 5.000 billion yen (more than 880 billion VND) for electric vehicles in particular and 8.000 billion yen (1.400 billion VND) billion VND) for vehicles running on alternative fuels (including hybrid fuel vehicles).
Honda has announced in advance that there will be 30 global electric car models. However, only now have they suddenly confirmed that the next generation of Honda NSX is also among them, not to mention a new unknown grand tourer sports car model.
Honda NSX is in its third generation with a hybrid powertrain that combines a mid-mounted V3 engine with an electric motor for a capacity of 6 horsepower. The car was previously confirmed to stop production at the end of this year.
In recent times, other Japanese brands besides Honda have also shown interest in the idea of electric sports cars. Toyota, when announcing its new electric vehicle lineup, included a two-seat sports car reminiscent of the MR2, while its sub-brand Lexus is developing a new all-electric LFA.
Nissan earlier this year launched the Max Out concept sports car, and also revealed the possibility of making a pure electric GT-R, while Subaru launched a 1.073 horsepower electric racing car called STI E-RA.
Not only promoting the electric vehicle lineup, Honda is expected to stop selling internal combustion engine vehicles from 2040 onwards.
