Attend training and awareness raising on economical and efficient use of energy in Ben Tre
"Green production and reducing greenhouse gas emissions are no longer an option, now it is a matter of survival for businesses." That is the message that Ms. Nguy Thi Giang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company shared with the business community of Ben Tre province at the training and awareness raising on economical and efficient use of energy organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ben Tre Province Trade on September 27.
The training session provided important contents such as: Some legal regulations on economical and efficient use of energy; Regulations on sanctions for administrative violations in the electricity sector; the role of energy saving and typical energy saving solutions in industry; policies on carbon reduction at home and abroad, impacts on businesses; smart lighting technology and energy saving... This is an opportunity for businesses to interact, exchange, learn from experience, and access energy saving solutions through the support of energy experts. . Thereby helping delegates improve their knowledge and better understand the State's guidelines, policies, and laws on economical and efficient use of energy and proposed solutions to save energy.
At the training conference, Ms. Nguy Thi Giang shared with businesses about Vietnam's emission reduction policies, specifically in the Law on Environmental Protection, Decree 06/2022/ND-CP regulating businesses industries with emissions of over 3.000 tons of CO2 equivalent and a number of thermal power plants, industrial production facilities, transportation companies, commercial buildings, solid waste treatment facilities with high energy consumption. Large quantities must conduct a greenhouse gas inventory and make the first report no later than March 3. In addition, GREEN IN representatives also had direct dialogue with 2025/3 businesses in Ben Tre province. List of fields and establishments emitting greenhouse gases must carry out a greenhouse gas inventory in Decision 01/2022/QD-TTg to grasp the current status and needs in complying with regulations on greenhouse gas inventory.
In terms of international policy, Ms. Nguy Thi Giang also shared with the business community of Ben Tre province Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). This is an issue that most participating businesses said they had never heard of. This is understandable because this is a new policy officially issued by the European Union last May 5. Besides CBAM, green production and consumption trends are being promoted worldwide, especially in the EU, US, Japan markets, etc. is creating pressure on Vietnamese export enterprises to carry out greenhouse gas inventories - Ms. Nguy Thi Giang shared and received consensus from the authorities and businesses of Ben Tre province at the training conference. .
The impacts are gradually appearing on Vietnamese businesses in general and businesses in Ben Tre in particular. However, if they are proactive in inventorying and planning to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Vietnamese businesses will be completely satisfied. can turn risks into opportunities, transform challenges into opportunities for long-term revenue and profit growth.
After the training conference, most businesses clearly recognized the role and responsibility of businesses in the story of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the impact of greenhouse gas emission reduction policies that are "knocking on their door". ”.
