VinFast joins hands with Marubeni Group to cooperate in reusing electric vehicle batteries

On December 18, 12, VinFast and Marubeni Group (“Marubeni”) officially announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in reusing electric vehicle batteries towards the goal of developing a circular economy. The memorandum of understanding marks an important step forward in the strategic partnership between the two sides, as well as making a strong contribution to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Vietnam and the world.
The announcement of the Memorandum of Understanding between VinFast and Marubeni was carried out in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Economic Forum and the Commemorative Summit. The 50th anniversary of the ASEAN-Japan partnership is taking place in Tokyo from December 16 to 18, 12.
According to the agreement, VinFast and Marubeni will cooperate in research and production of battery energy storage systems (BESS) from used electric vehicle batteries.
In particular, VinFast will be the supplier of electric vehicle batteries; Marubeni undertakes feasibility assessment, technical consultation and implementation of BESS installation. The two sides also cooperated to promote business opportunities in the field of used electric vehicle batteries, aiming to establish a circular economy model.
It is expected that Marubeni will apply exclusive technology from strategic partners to reuse VinFast electric car batteries, developing into BESS with affordable prices, easy production without dismantling, processing and packaging. battery again.
