Currently, the Government has issued regulations to establish a carbon market in Vietnam and the pilot phase will begin in 2025. According to a recent survey by the Department of Climate Change and UNOPS, more than 60% of businesses do not understand how the greenhouse gas emission trading system (ETS) and the carbon market operate; or understand but do not know the basic operating principles. Only about 5% of businesses understand the difference between these two systems and the interactions on the carbon trading floor.
